Best natural harbour in the country.

Santa Catarina is a state that stands for a strong, stable and diversified economy which is growing constantly and has in its exportation one of the secrets of balance and strength. The geographical situation of the state within Mercosur is one factor that has favoured the development of Santa Catarina in this economic bloc. Occupying a strategic position between two major centres of production and consumption, the metropolitan areas of Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo, it is an absolute must for all production of Mercosur, Santa Catarina is characterized as a great business centre. Located 40 km from Joinville, the largest city in the state and the third largest industrial centre in southern Brazil, São Francisco do Sul is the place of production in Santa Catarina to the world. The rail network connects the harbour with several economically important areas by the railway 485 in the town of Mafra.
Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre and west of Paraná, as well as all the Mercosur can be accessed by this point, linking the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. It’s in this promising scenario that is located São Francisco do Sul harbour.
